Greetings! My name is Josandra Oliveira, and I am the owner of Blu Pet Shop & Spa. I worked as a veterinarian in Brazil for over 25 years, inspired by my dad who is also a veterinarian.
I have been living with my family in the USA for seven years studying, and during this time, I have seen the opportunity to work with what I love most: animals. Here in the USA, I worked for two years in one of the franchised stores of a large grooming chain before I opened my own business.
Then, I received guidance from heaven for that and everything was all a Divine inspiration, like name, and color, for example. BLU means blue in Italian language. It also was chosen for reminding the color of the sky, having the same pronunciation in English, and being easy to say in three different languages: English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
After a lifetime dedicated to treating animals’ health, I can give my best with my knowledge and experience in beauty and care for the fur, skin, and nails of my little friends in a place of much love, peace, and that brings confidence to customers.
Finally, on December 11, 2021, Blu Pet Shop & Spa was born.
To ensure that this entire process is a success, we chose to use products of excellent quality; we established partnerships with companies that provide other types of auxiliary services to ours fur friends, and we offer the opportunity for apprentices of grooming courses to learn and practice bathing and grooming, as well to very experienced groomers.
We use shampoos, conditioners, masks, oils, and perfumes from Hydra by PetSociety in our grooming salon; we have a partnership with Magic Paws for deep teeth cleaning without the use of anesthesia, and with The Vets for veterinary medical service. The towels that we use on our fur friends are washed, sanitized, and dried by Cintas.
We also offer products for sale such as Fabdog toys; Lupine leashes and collars, Baydog harnesses; Carinhosso dresses; Fromm, Farmina N&D, Stella & Chewys pet foods; Claudia’s and Bosco & Roxy’s cookies; K9-Granola, Sabrini’s, Bocces, and Cumps treats; shampoos, conditioners, and perfumes from the Hydra, Pet Reliefe, and Earthbath lines, and more.
Our team consists of experienced bathers and groomers, some with over 30 years of experience, and pet grooming classes apprentices from Animal Behavior College. We hire professionals who truly love animals and are willing to work with love, dedication, and patience.
Our mission is to offer great service with excellent products, respecting and loving our furry friends and serving them with massages, kisses, and hugs.

We use animal-safe, hypoallergenic nail polishes with vibrant and varied colors for a temporary effect.
We offer hair dyeing services using natural, temporary, or semi-permanent dyes with vibrant and beautiful colors.
Using appropriate ear cleaning methods. We can also perform ear plucking upon request if they are excessively hairy inside. We do not perform deep ear cleaning. In case of infections, we recommend consulting a veterinarian.
We express anal glands only when they are full, without the need for surgical procedures. If they are very full and painful, we recommend consulting a veterinarian.
We use a coconut oil-based product to moisturize dry noses and paws.
Our bathing service includes bathing with Hydra by Pet Society products, drying, brushing, nail trimming, ears cleaning, and anal gland expression (if necessary). We offer hypoallergenic shampoo for dogs allergic to perfumes and similar scents. We also have CBD-based shampoos and other components to assist in treating itching or hot spots. Feel free to inquire about them.
Bathing with natural anti-flea shampoo, drying, nail trimming, ears cleaning, and anal gland expression (if necessary).
We brush teeth using natural enzymatic paste and disposable toothbrushes. For deep cleaning or tartar treatment, we recommend our partner, Magic Paws (appointment required).
If your pet has a few mats in certain areas of the body, but detangling takes more than 30 minutes, we recommend de-matting with natural conditioners and detanglers. This service is charged per hour according to the difficulty and size of the animal.
Some breeds with a double coat, such as Huskies, Pomeranians, Samoyeds, and Sheppards, have a seasonal and natural shedding of dead hair. We recommend monthly de-shedding treatments with specific products and appropriate tools to significantly reduce hair shedding at home. This service is charged according to the size of the animal and the amount of hair.
Our mini-grooming service includes bathing, drying, brushing, nail trimming, ears cleaning, anal gland expression (if necessary), and trimming of hair in sanitary areas, under the paws, and face.
Our full grooming service includes bathing, drying, brushing, nail trimming, ears cleaning, anal gland expression (if necessary), and trimming of hair all over the body according to the breed and client’s preference.
